Philanthropy Project for 2023-2024

Financial Assistance for Rebuilding the Early Childhood Classroom at Vickery Meadows

Goal: $35,000

This building housed the classrooms for the children learning at the Vickery Meadow site.  In the winter, with the big freeze, the pipes froze and the building was flooded. Due to the age of the building (a 1950's little cottage) asbestos was found which required a total gutting of the structure to properly remediate.  PHWC will raise funds to go towards renovation of the building.

As we enter the last quarter of our second donation year with Literacy Achieves, we wish to thank all who have generously donated to date. In 2023-2024 Literacy Achieves changed approximately 1300 lives because of improved literacy. Your generosity and support helped to make those significant improvements to those Dallas lives.

Philanthropy Project for 2024-2025

Early Childhood Education Program

New Goal:  $20,000

PHWC is happy to continue helping the Early Childhood Education program grow and thrive. Over the course of the year, you will have opportunities to donate and volunteer.

The Early Childhood Education program is for children (4 months – 5 years) to learn while their parent or guardian are simultaneously enrolled in the Adult English Literacy Program.

It provides a child-centered, literacy-rich environment for young children, designed to meet the unique needs that prepares the children for kindergarten and their future.
